Lawmakers worry about East Coast refining capacity? And the lawmakers need to worry about it! No local refineries, no local fuel produced. Big oil is selling fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. Barry will support natural gas and oil production for sale on the world market to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their benefit. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

My hope is gas will be over $7. come November. And Americans will be mad enough to Clean House. Starting with the White one, & working down to the House of Congress & the House of the Senate.

JimL1, over the last many years, I've observed that the mainstream Dem voters tend to be far more ignorant when it comes to financial matters than their Republican counterparts.
Anyone who truly believes that the Dems are indeed looking out for the little guy is a good candidate to buy beachfront property in Nevada.
Look up the 2009 NY state budget and the tax increases it contained. That's an excellent example of how the Dems put the tax screws on the little guy. What's really sad is the Dem voter base never realized that the very same politicians they put into office were taxing them even more!

Need refineries near source of oil, especially if gas is there to fuel it.

Do you remember seeing Westerns with John Wayne, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, William Boyd as HOP ALONG CASSIDY where the wealthy bankers & land owners got all the water rights usually crooked & then charged crazy EXCESSIVE prices for water that should have been free or diverted at 1/4 of the price...Well these EXCESSIVE FUEL PRICES is the 21st Century Version of that...
SAD THING IS THAT OUR GOVERNMENT whose job & duty it is to support, defend & protect USA Citizens are not & in fact are cheating & stealing from WE THE PEOPLE!
Now if all of this ripping off USA Citizens continues then hopefully WE THE PEOPLE will unite & ACT instead of talk!
FACT - IF WE THE PEOPLE DO NOTHING THEN WE THE PEOPLE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Just watch at the bridges at Buffalo, Detriot and Port Huron as well as others and there are streams of American fuel tankers crossing the border into Canada to pickup fuel at their refineries and it has not stopped or slowed down for the last thirty years.

I need the people who are trying to get in OFFICE, to start focusing on all major issues, instead of throwing eachother under the bus, to get our votes. I'm starting not to care about the elections anymore.

I see a lot of crying about relaxing regulations so refineries will stay in business, and cost too much to build or expand to use the tar sands etc.
It only took about 3 and a half years to expand the ConocoPhillips Wood River Refinery to refine the tar sands oil. There was a great urgency to get it started but their were regulations that were insisted on which held the project up. One of those was: We should have standards of air quality as good as those in California. Why would you rush to have jobs and your community die of cancer and other health problems from tons of toxic waste? Sure we wanted the jobs! We didn't address manufacturing and supplying the pipeline and it was ordered from India which was a blow to the area's employment. Just bribing your town with a little league uniforms and a ball park is peanuts to the industry. You have to have regulations and have them up front if we are to exist together.

the epa hasnt allowed a new refinery in over 30 years, and now they are regulating existing refineries out of business. keep electing barry, harry and nancy types and enjoy the results. when we start importing chinese refined products, dont complain.

let's see... the frickin' government puts in finger in every other pie, find the solution, encourage refineries and drilling (safely) and prices will come down to $180/gallon again. END SPECULATION.

The Republicans have been lying and brainwashing the American people for so long it is not funny. Remember the stories about John Kerry's military service and his medals. Look it up on Snopes.com. Why do I bring this up? Simple it demonstrates that The Republicans have been lying to us for a long time and sabotaging Democrat candidates with lies for a very long time. Do you believe anything that the Republicans say? If so you are a fool.

Why are EXPORTING perfectly good products to foreign countries when our own needs are being ignored by the powers to be. Time to give them a present of ties, placed in the proper place, and the trees to have a swinging good time.
