From LeftLaneNews - American Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have just announced a new recall that will cover a bit over half a million roughly decade-old SUVs in the U.S. The models affected include the 2002 through 2004 CR-V, as well as the 2003 Pilot, both of which potentially contain faulty wiring that may result in the unexpected and total failure of low-beam headlamps. In the heated race for this year's "Top Junk" award, Toyota took an early lead, but now Honda is reaching its stride and cleaning up their junk.

American Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have just announced a new recall that will cover a bit over half a million roughly decade-old SUVs in the U.S.

The models affected include the 2002 through 2004 CR-V, as well as the 2003 Pilot, both of which potentially contain faulty wiring that may result in the unexpected and total failure of low-beam headlamps.

Honda says that the total number of vehicles included in the recall is about 554,000, but despite those large numbers no vehicles have been involved in an accident and no injuries have occurred as a result of the flaw. Honda will notify owners of the affected vehicles in late-April, and perform the necessary repairs free of charge.Click Here

I hate the quality of my wifes crappy prius BUT.. AA2009 it does get 40-45. I have had to use my wifes prius to track problems she finds, and calc. mpg's are right in there at 41-44 for ours. The gas milage is the ONLY thing I like about it. Our Ford Escape Hybrid is a much more versatile car with far better quality and ave. mpg is 32.5, for a larger, SUV is admerable. Looking foward to Ford's new hybrids getting 47 mpg, this fall!

Our 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid gets 32.5 most of the time, paid 10grand the wifes P.O.S. 2004 prius only gets 40.3 not 60 like they said, but she got it for 7grand, ok beater I guess, but the Ford is our favorite, better quality for sure! reb4, that driving 30-40mph in 45-55limit roads will get you rear-ended, oh maybe your into that kinda thing!

BY migwitch All-Star Author Green Bay It has been previously reported that for all of 2011 Toyota would - for the third year in a row - recall more vehicles than any other manufacturer. Now we learn that Honda, not content with Toyota grabbing all the junk headlines, has sprinted to the top of the loser board with a last minute mega recall. From Autoblog - Honda has surpassed Toyota for the largest number of recalled vehicles in 2011. Wards Auto reports that Honda expanded an airbag recall to encompass a total of 2.5 million million vehicles last year, pushing the total number of recalled units to 3.9 million vehicles over 17 campaigns. Previous estimates put Toyota at the head of the recall pile with 13 campaigns covering 3.5 million vehicles. The airbag recall covers some of the most popular Honda models, including Civic, Civic Hybrid and Accord sedans manufactured between 2001 and 2004, as well as the CR-V and Pilot. The Acura CL and TL were also included. Toyota, meanwhile, found itself correcting issues with accelerator pedals and floor mats associated with the company's unintended acceleration woes. Toyota had found itself leading the largest number of recalled vehicles for two consecutive years prior to 2011. Congratulations Honda, it takes a lot of effort to build junk and pawn it off as quality. But don't rest on your laurels, as I look for Toyota to put up an even greater effort to capture the Top Junk award in 2012!

Over time the control arm could break at the weld. If that happens the steering would be affected, possibly resulting in a crash. * You dont think this welding problem could happen to other Hondas too? Many share same parts! *

Nevertheless, having seen Honda penetrate the North American market from its humble beginnings in the early 70s, and having driven one, I do accord, if that is the term, this reputable brand a considerable degree of respect. Moreover, it seems that a Honda without headlights would be brighter than a lot of the posts on this and related polemic threads, regardless of brand.

Ford is not confirming the price just yet, but USA TODAY reported that the 2013 GT500's horsepower is matched by only a handful of exotic vehicles going for upwards of $100,000. MSN says Ford's suggested retail price will be $54,995. Clearly, cars like these don't come around very often. And in the U.S. with CAFE standards pressing manufacturers to go green, reduce horse power and shrink engines... the 2013 GT500 might be a Ford Mustang milestone edition that perhaps will not be trumped for many years. Did we mention the 662 horses? That's not a typo. What NO Asian Pony cars!! GO American Muscle!
